Questions you may have about root canal treatment
Frequently Asked Questions
Short answers to common questions before your visit.
What does an endodontist do?
An endodontist is a dentist with three extra years of specialist training in diagnosing and treating problems inside the tooth: the pulp and the tissues around the root. Root canal treatment is the most common procedure we perform.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can contact us directly for an assessment or second opinion. We also welcome referrals from dentists and send them a full report after treatment.
Is root canal treatment painful?
Treatment is performed under local anaesthetic, so you should not feel pain during the procedure. Some tenderness for a few days afterwards is normal.
I am very anxious about dental treatment. Can you help?
Yes. Tell us when you book. Sedation options, a low-sensory surgery and headphones are available.
We never forget we are treating a person, not just a tooth.
Request an appointment and we will reply within one business day.
